about

EVERY CHRISTMAS STORY IS A GHOST STORY.

Nate did a lot of the work on this and played all the music, excepting the samples at the end and the voices on "Little Drum Machine." Info on those can be found in the track credits. Nate knows very little about mixing and mastering, and did much of this in his living room. Homespun!

The lyrics and music to "Cold White Christmas" are originally by Owen Ashworth, formerly Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, now Advance Base. The rights to these are also his. I asked him if I could cover it for this and he said yes. Thank you SO MUCH, Owen! I hope it sounds okay.

Mark was Santa. Haste, haste, to bring him laud.

"The Little Drum Machine" was originally going to be a cool version of a popular Christmas song. Guess what isn't in the public domain? So, you get a...different thing. A public domain thing. Don't blame me. Some record executive out there insists on pretending like Christmas doesn't have folkways, and is raking in the cash on everything we love. Probably rolls around in it like Scrooge McDuck. My Christmas wish is that the Ghost of Christmas Future catches up with this person.

The words and music to "Silent Night" are by, respectively, Franz X. Gruber and Joseph Mohr. The translation of the lyrics into English is by John Freeman Young.

"Clarice" was inspired in equal parts by Rankin/Bass's Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and John Carpenter's Escape from New York.
